And you are correct. He doesn’t.
The redshirt freshman has just three home runs this season and stands 6-foot and weighs 200 pounds. But you don’t have to be big or tall to hit a baseball and few in the college game are hitting the baseball better than Rohlman right now.
Rohlman has the ability to drive the baseball pretty much wherever he wants to on the baseball diamond. That is why he leads the Tigers with a .363 batting average, which includes a team-high 17 doubles and a team-best 55 RBIs.
“The biggest thing is just having confidence when you go up there,” Rohlman said on Saturday following the Tigers’ three-game road sweep of eighth-ranked Florida State.
Rohlman was on fire against the Seminoles. He finished the three-game set 7 of 11 (.636) at the plate with a home run, three doubles and seven RBIs. His three doubles came in Saturday’s, 9-6, victory as he drove in four runs, including one two-out double down the right field line in the third inning that scored Eli White and Steven Duggar.
He also had a one-out double down the right field line that gave Clemson (31-25) a 1-0 lead in the top of the first inning.
“Reed Rohlman had a big weekend for us,” Clemson head coach Jack Leggett said.
Rohlman was a big reason why the Tigers went 4-0 for the first time in a week this season. He was 2-for-4 at the plate against Furman last Tuesday at Greenville’s Fluor Field as he drove in four runs and had another double.
He is sure to garner ACC and National Player of the Week honors after earning nine hits in 15 at-bats (.600) with a home run, four doubles and 11 RBIs.
Rohlman leads Clemson with a plus-.400 average with runners in scoring position.
“He is a hitter. He keeps coming along and his confidence is getting better every time,” Leggett said. “He is clutch. He is tough out. It does not matter what kind of pitcher—lefty or righty—breaking ball or fastball. He has a plan every time he goes up there and he figures out a way to get us hits.”
And now Rohlman has the Tigers playing with the same kind of confidence he has. Clemson has won seven of its last eight games and from the batting lineup, to the field and to the mound everyone on the team is playing with a renewed since of confidence and purpose in everything they do.
“I just like the way our kids battled this weekend. This was a good weekend of baseball for us and hopefully this will give us some confidence going into the ACC Tournament,” Leggett said.
And hopefully for Clemson’s sake, Rohlman will keep seeing the baseball as if it is coming at him in slow motion.
“The biggest thing is confidence coming in there. You have to know you are going to get your pitch and when you get your pitch you have to do something with it,” Rohlman said.

Click below for the full article
Tigers feeding off Rohlman’s confidence
Source: The Clemson Insider

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. — When you look at Clemson left fielder Reed Rohlman, you are not thinking he is a guy that has a lot of power in his bat.
