Coach Dabo Swinney has announced that red shirt Sophomore Ebenezer Ogundeko has been released from the Clemson football program.<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n

In a surprise turn of events, Clemson defensive end Ebenezer Ogundeko has been released from the football program. According to sources from Tigernet, the decision was made and announced earlier Tuesday afternoon.<\/p>\n

\u201cEbenezer Ogundeko has been dismissed from the Clemson football team for a violation of team rules and behavior detrimental to our football team,\u201d said Swinney via Tigernet<\/a>. \u201cWe wish him well.\u201d<\/div>\n

Ogundeko had a great chance to be on the two-deep depth chart this season, as well as compete for a starting position come fall-time. The red shirt Sophomore out of Brooklyn, New York played a total of 16 snaps<\/a> in limited time on the field last year, but also had five tackles in those 16 snaps. The defensive coaches were raving on \u201cEbo\u201d and his progress made in the spring, but unfortunately he will be unable to compete any longer with the Clemson program.<\/p>\n

With the loss at defensive end, Clemson is down ten on scholarship, with no seniors within the group. In the group, six of the ten are either red shirt freshmen or true freshmen, so the Clemson Coaching Staff will be looking for a couple of the younger underclassmen to make an impact by working hard during the summer and performing well when Fall Camp arrives in a little under four months away.<\/p>\n

Ogundeko, via his Instagram<\/a>, responded to thank his Tiger family for his time at Clemson University.<\/p>\n

I wanna thank Clemson University for giving me an opportunity to grow as a man and experience things I never thought of. But unfortunately I have to move on with my life and leave Clemson. Imma miss Yall..<\/span><\/p>\n
