Four-star offensive lineman John Simpson is about the narrow down his list of options.
\nThe 2016 prospect from Fort Dorchester High School will hit the road this summer before whittling his list down to three.
\n\u201cMe and my coach, we\u2019ve been talking a lot about the decision and he just wants me to take as much time as I need,\u201d Simpson told TheClemsonInsider, during a recent interview.
\nThere\u2019s no timeline, no plan for what will happen next.
\n\u201cHe tells me all the time, don\u2019t let it get to me right now,\u201d Simpson said, \u201cBecause it\u2019s going to get much worse, so just go slow with the process and take your time, so I was like, OK.\u201d
\nThis summer, Simpson will head to Alabama for camp. He also plans to take visits\/camp trips to Clemson, South Carolina, LSU, Florida, Tennessee and Georgia.
\nThe plan, for now, is to be in Clemson during the Dabo Swinney Football Camp, June 8-10.
\nEarlier this month, he was in Tigertown with his teammate, 2018 quarterback Dakereon Joyner.
\n\u201cMost likely, we\u2019re going to travel together, like we always do,\u201d Simpson said of the summer itinerary.
\n\u201cBut he\u2019s got 7-on-7 and stuff like that, so I\u2019ve got to try to work around what he\u2019s doing.\u201d
\nThroughout their recent afternoon in Tigertown, Simpson and Joyner were joined by co-offensive coordinator Tony Elliott, offensive player development coach Durrell Barry and Tyler Clements, the son of Clemson President Jim Clements.
\nElliott serves as the area recruiter for the two prospects and Barry went to Fort Dorchester before playing tight end at Clemson.
\n\u201cI went up there and I saw a little bit more stuff that I haven\u2019t seen before,\u201d Simpson said. \u201cEvery time I got up there, it\u2019s something different, so that\u2019s one of the good things about going up there that I like about Clemson.\u201d
\nHe added, \u201cWe got to go in-depth with what\u2019s coming up, what\u2019s being built and we got a better tour of it. Got to tour through the campus. We saw a lot of things, like buildings and stuff like that, that we\u2019ve never seen that\u2019s on campus.\u201d<\/p>\n
