The summer recruiting season is in full-swing. Unfortunatley, real, live college football is still several months away.
\nWith that in mind, TheClemsonInsider is taking a look back at the recruitment of each returning player on the Clemson roster.
\nWR Trevion Thompson, Durham-Hillside (NC) \u2013 RS Freshman
\nThompson committed to Clemson on January 19, 2014, just days after wrapping up his third and final official visit to Clemson. The four-star prospect also considered Ohio State, N.C. State, UNC and West Virginia.
\nThe pledge was \u00a0announced on Twitter, \u201cIn the Fall of 2014, I will be attending Clemson University!\u201d
\nClemson was consistently listed among the favorites throughout Thompson\u2019s recruitment. Others came and went, but the Tigers were consistently listed among his favorite options.
\nIt certainly helped that Clemson first offered when he was a sophomore.
\nVisits to 2012 and 2013 Orange and White spring games helped make vault the Tigers into serious contention. The most critical trip may have been in 2013 when Thompson brought his mom along for her first visit to the school.
\nOhio State hosted Thompson on his first official visit in late November and N.C. State had him in for an official a couple of weeks later. Scheduled officials to West Virginia and UNC were never made.
\nUpon his arrival last summer, Thompson joined former Hillside teammate Korrin Wiggins.
\nRobbie Caldwell served as Thompson\u2019s area recruiter, but Jeff Scott also played a significant role in locking him up less than a month before signing day.<\/p>\n
