Let\u2019s take a look at Artavis Scott, the star wide receiver, through the lens of the Rubbing the Rock Spotlight.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

Throughout the summer, Rubbing the Rock will be taking a look at some of the players on the Clemson Tiger roster and examining their role as to how they will affect the team in this upcoming season. Clemson brings back a number of star-studded athletes and will have the chance to compete for the 2015 ACC Championship and the College Football Playoffs. The Tigers have some incredible talent and ability, with some great personalities and confidence to compete with some of the best in the nation. Today, the Rubbing the Rock Spotlight will be taking look at Artavis Scott.<\/p>\n

Scott is one of the less talked about guys on this roster. He headlines the wide receiver group, but is still lost in the mix when it comes to reporters and broadcasters alike. Artavis Scott is one of those guys who everyone just assumes will be good, and for good reason, this upcoming season, but never gets the recognition he deserves.<\/p>\n

As a true freshman, Artavis Scott caught 76 passes for 965 yards and eight touchdowns<\/a>. He was instrumental in the win over rival South Carolina when he scored two touchdowns and had a total of 185 yards receiving. He continued to progress over his freshman season, earning First-Team Freshman All-American<\/a> honors by just about every service in the nation, as well as Second-Team All-ACC accolades.<\/p>\n

Artavis Scott is one of the several wide receivers who will need to make an impact this season. What impresses me most about him is his ability to be in the end zone on any given play. All it takes is a missed tackle and he is gone. Even though he isn\u2019t as fast as maybe a Sammy Watkins, he is extremely explosive and plays the receiver spot just as good as anyone in the nation. He has sure hands, as well as the route-running ability to get open. He should take a huge step forward this season and could continue to be one of the top receivers in the ACC, as well as in the nation.<\/p>\n
