We\u2019ve finally made it to Friday and there is just one day standing between each of us and the weekend. The Clemson baseball team will begin NCAA Tournament play later tonight, so in light of that, here is our preview of the Fullerton Regional and how Clemson can win this weekend. Also, a good read on Coach Dabo Swinney and finally, some good news on Clemson Athletics in Academics. Have a great Friday, RTR community!<\/p>\n

Clemson Baseball: Fullerton Regional Preview<\/a> \u2014 Andrew Boardwine, RTR<\/p>\n

The Fullerton Regional will begin play on Friday when the Clemson Tigers play the Arizona State Sun Devils. This, should the Tigers win, could be a long, but exciting, weekend of baseball for Clemson fans. Tiger fans will have to stay up late to be able to see the Clemson baseball team play as they could be playing a game as late as 11 p.m. eastern time. The time difference could come into play as we get later into the week as Clemson is the only team from the east coast to be playing in this regional.<\/p>\n

Dabo Swinney Honored by Multiple Organizations for Off the Field Accomplishments<\/a> \u2014 Ryan Kantor, Shakin the Southland<\/p>\n

Now, Dabo Swinney\u2019s off the field accomplishments have been recognized by two organizations in the past week. The Gene Stallings Award which \u201cwas created to honor college football head coaches who are also humanitarians and strive to promote healthy, vibrant communities through charitable and community service efforts\u201d was given to Coach Swinney.<\/p>\n

Student-Athletes Record 3.02 Spring GPA<\/a> \u2014 Clemson Athletic Communications<\/p>\n

CLEMSON, S.C. \u2013 Nine of Clemson\u2019s athletic programs recorded semester grade point ratios above a 3.0, and 234 student-athletes posted spring semester marks at 3.0 and above, according to data provided by the University Office of Institutional Research.<\/p>\n

Baseball, men\u2019s and women\u2019s soccer, rowing, volleyball, diving, women\u2019s golf and men\u2019s and women\u2019s tennis each eclipsed 3.0 as a team, with women\u2019s tennis, coming off its 10th NCAA Sweet 16 appearance in the last 12 seasons, posting a department-high 3.58 semester GPA.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
