{"id":1554,"date":"2015-05-30T22:55:00","date_gmt":"2015-05-31T02:55:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.thetigerfanforum.com\/news\/?p=1554"},"modified":"2015-05-30T22:55:00","modified_gmt":"2015-05-31T02:55:00","slug":"capps-leads-clemson-in-second-round-of-ncaas","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.thetigerfanforum.com\/news\/2015\/05\/30\/capps-leads-clemson-in-second-round-of-ncaas\/","title":{"rendered":"Capps Leads Clemson in Second Round of NCAAs"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Bradenton, Fla\u2014Miller Capps had a second round 76 to pace Clemson at the NCAA National Tournament at Concession Golf Club in Bradenton, Fla on Saturday..\u00a0 Clemson enters the third round with a 615 stroke total, 30<sup>th<\/sup> in the field of 30 teams.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Clemson had a score of 309 on Saturday, its highest round of the year.\u00a0 Each of Clemson\u2019s highest two rounds of the year, in fact the only two rounds of the year over 297, have been on the difficult par 72 Concession Golf Club course that is 7,483 yards in length, the fifth longest Clemson has played in its history.<\/p>\n<p>Capps led the Tigers with the 76, while sophomore Austin Langdale had a 77.\u00a0 Senior Billy Kennerly and junior Stephen Behr both had rounds of 78 and Cody Proveaux had an 80.<\/p>\n<p>Capps was three over for his first five holes, then played the last 13 in just one over.\u00a0 Langdale had three birdies on the day, but finished with bogeys on each of his last three holes to score a 77.\u00a0 Kennerly, Clemson\u2019s only senior, had a rough day around the greens and never made a birdie.\u00a0 He missed four birdie putts from 10 feet and in.<\/p>\n<p>The Tigers actually got off to a fairly good start and shot just six-over-par on the front nine, six shots better than their first round score on Friday.
