The Clemson baseball team\u2019s season came to a bitter end as the Tigers fell to the Pepperdine Waves Saturday night.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

The Clemson baseball team\u2019s season came to an end by the bitter hand of defeat to the Pepperdine Waves. The Waves got out to a 7-0 lead when Hutton Moyer hit a two-run double in the top of the sixth. Things looked dim for the Tigers at that point and I would imagine many Clemson fans turned their televisions off at that point.<\/p>\n

For the ones that suffered through, they got even more disappointment when the Tigers began a late rally that brought the hopes of Clemson nation back to the baseball team. The Tigers began a huge rally in the bottom of the seventh, where they tied the ballgame up and, actually, took a one run lead. Clemson did so off a Tyler Slaton two-out triple, which brought the score in favor of the Tigers 8-7.<\/p>\n

In the top of the eighth, Pepperdine tied the game up at eight apiece and then later scored two runs in the ninth to take a 10-8 lead. Clemson was unable to get anything going with their final three outs and the season came to a disappointing end.<\/p>\n

With the loss, Clemson was eliminated from the Fullerton Regional in just two games. The Tigers were the last team to receive a bid into the NCAA Tournament, but could not take advantage of the perceived momentum they had from the way they closed out the season. The Tigers finish with an overall record of 32-29 and we will wait to see the fate of Jack Leggett and what will be done to improve for next season.<\/p>\n
