Noah DeHond\u2019s stock has seen a dramatic uptick since moving into the 2017 class.
\nThe change from the 2016 class was made official when DeHond finalized his plans to transfer from McQuaid Jesuit (Rochester, N.Y.) to the Peddie School (Hightstown, N.J.).
\nDeHond got word of Clemson\u2019s offer late last week when he called defensive coordinator Brent Venables.
\n\u201cHe was just saying that they really like my film and they want to get me down there for a visit,\u201d DeHond said last Friday, during an interview with TheClemsonInsider.
\n\u201cHe said that they\u2019re graduating a lot of linemen, so there are going to be some spots open, so they\u2019re definitely going to recruit me hard.\u201d
\nSeven days before the offer, Clemson got a head\u2019s up from DeHond\u2019s coach at the Peddie School.
\n\u201cMy coach called them up last Thursday and they offered me yesterday, so not very long,\u201d DeHond said, when asked how long he\u2019s been communicating with Clemson.
\nBoth 247 and Rivals rate him as a three-star prospect. According to 247, he\u2019s the No. 30 offensive tackle in the class of 2017.
\nDespite living about 13 hours from Clemson, DeHond is relatively familiar with the Tigers.
\n\u201cThey\u2019re consistently really good. They\u2019re one of the only schools in the country to win 10 games or more in the last four seasons or something like that,\u201d he said. \u201cI know it\u2019s a very good school. I know it\u2019s a beautiful campus and they\u2019re up there with the big dogs every year.\u201d
\nAt some point along the way, DeHond plans to make the journey south, but no arrangements have been made.
\n\u201cIt has great academics. It has everything I\u2019m looking for,\u201d DeHond said.
\nAlabama, Illinois, Kentucky, Louisville, Miami, UNC, Pittsburgh, Purdue, Rutgers, Virginia, Virginia Tech and Wisconsin have offered.<\/p>\n
