Clemson sent out an offer to three-star offensive lineman Tremayne Anchrum Jr. on Monday night.
\nThe 2016 prospect from McEachern High School (Powder Springs, Ga.) was on his way back home from Georgia when he got the word.
\n\u201cI\u2019ve been in contact with coach (Tony) Elliott and we always had good conversations with each other and he just told me they needed to do their research, and they did,\u201d Anchrum said, during an interview with TheClemsonInsider.
\n\u201cWhen they were doing it, they came to the school to see me. The o-line coach came to see me, coach Elliott was there a couple of times.\u201d
\nElliott, who serves as Anchrum\u2019s primary recruiter to Clemson, was in contact on Monday. The Tigers offered him as an offensive tackle.
\n\u201cI went to watch games when I was a kid,\u201d Anchrum said. \u201cI was going to up there for a visit with Julian (Rochester), but it ended up getting cancelled due to some weather issues, so we stopped.\u201d
\nHis first recruiting trip to Clemson could be later this summer.
\n\u201cProbably July, maybe, for their cookout, sometime around that time,\u201d Anchrum said.
\nThe 6-foot-3, 257-pound rising senior was impressed with what he saw in Clemson during his previous visits.
\n\u201cIt was very electric. I\u2019m not going to lie, it was a very exciting atmosphere and everything,\u201d Anchrum said. \u201cI thought it was, especially the fans, the way they\u2019re all into the game. The tradition of Clemson really was attractive. I always loved to see their games.\u201d
\nAnchrum will leave for a visit to Nebraska on Thursday.
\nClemson, Georgia, Nebraska, Arizona State, Missouri, Syracuse and Wake Forest have offered.<\/p>\n
