It’s fair to say Clemson Baseball has been competitive over the last few years, but our objective is success, defined by competing for ACC Championships and winning in the NCAA Tournament. I have high expectations – and I know our fans and student-athletes have great expectations – for our baseball program.”

Leggett has been the Head Coach at Clemson since 1994, a total of 22 seasons in which he led the Clemson baseball program to 21 NCAA Tournament appearances, six College World Series berths, including two ACC Tournament Championships, and winning a total of 955 games in his career as a Tiger.

Obviously, it is a bitter-sweet day for most Clemson fans, even the ones who have been wanting him out for so long. Coach Leggett did so much for this program and he has such a competitive attitude that made him a Hall of Fame Coach.

“Jack has meant so much over the last 22 years as a head coach at Clemson that I could not do justice to his impact on our program,” Radakovich said, via Clemson Tigers.com. “His contributions as an assistant to a Hall of Fame coach in Bill Wilhelm followed by becoming a Hall of Fame Coach himself speak to his achievements. Many players have been beneficiaries of Jack’s leadership and service, and for that Clemson will always be grateful.”

Now Clemson will begin a coaching search. Many sources are telling Rubbing the Rock there is already a name in place, but we will see what happens over the next couple of weeks.
