Unfortunately, real, live college football is still several months away.<br \/>\nWith that in mind, TheClemsonInsider is taking a look back at the recruitment of each returning player on the Clemson roster.<br \/>\nWR Mike Williams, Vance, S.C. \u2013 Junior<br \/>\nWhen Williams first emerged on the recruiting radar, he was a sophomore, still getting a grasp on the fact that his future was in football, not basketball.<br \/>\nThings were quite different at Clemson when Williams took his first visit in March of 2011. For starters, the Tigers had yet to roll out their new hurry-up, no-huddle offense brought in by former Texas high school coach Chad Morris.<br \/>\nBy the time Jeff Scott offered Williams during that May evaluation period, the wheels had already been set in motion. Tajh Boyd was entrenched as the starting quarterback and the 2011 wide receiver signing class of Sammy Watkins, Martavis Bryant, Charone Peake and Adam Humphries were signed and waiting to enroll at Clemson.<br \/>\nFast-forward 12 months later.<br \/>\nWilliams is established as a legit, four-star prospect. Along with Clemson \u2014 his first offer \u2014 South Carolina, Georgia, Alabama, Tennnessee and Notre Dame had offers on the table.<br \/>\nWorking in Clemson\u2019s favor was Morris\u2019 propensity to call as many play as possible, most of them coming via the pass, but there was ground to make up.<br \/>\nHeading into his June trip to Clemson for the Dabo Swinney Football Camp, Williams was a South Carolina lean. That was still the case a month later when he returned for the All-In Cookout.<br \/>\nWilliams exited the annual Cookout listing the Tigers as his favorite.<br \/>\n\u201cI just feel wanted at Clemson. All the coaches make me feel like I\u2019m at home. It\u2019s like a family,\u201d he said.<br \/>\nPlans to announce a commitment were arranged for July 31.
