Radakovic discusses hiring a new baseball coach<\/p>\n

Clemson athletic director Dan Radakovic talked about several topics in a recent article ‘From the Desk of Dan Radakovic’ on Tuesday.
\nOne of the main topics of discussion lately for Clemson fans has been who Radakovich will hire to replace former Clemson hall-of-fame baseball coach Jack LeggettJack LeggettBaseball Head CoachView Full Profile.
\n“Last week was a difficult one for all of the Clemson Family,” Radakovich said about the firing of Jack Leggett. “There\u2019s no adequate way to describe the legacy of Jack Leggett and his record of achievements, and I described the difficulty of my decision to make a change and the reasons for it last week in our announcement and meeting with the media. Now, we must move forward together, providing a new momentum and surrounding our baseball program with optimism.”
\nHe went on to say that he will look into several national baseball candidates and a few that are still in postseason play.
\n“As expected with such a nationally relevant program, we\u2019ve already had tremendous interest from a number of coaches around the country,” Radakovich said. “I\u2019m grateful for the counsel and input of several former players and friends of Clemson, and I\u2019ve met with our selection committee to set the parameters of the search and discuss initial candidates. This week, we\u2019ll have an opportunity to meet with a few potential candidates, understanding some may still be participating in postseason play. While we won\u2019t set a specific timetable for the announcement of a new coach, I will assure you we\u2019ll work quickly and diligently, and we\u2019ll take as long as it needs to identify the best choice to lead our program into the future.”
\nLeggett was fired last week after Clemson finished this past season 32-29.<\/p>\n
