Former Clemson wide receiver Jacoby Ford is excited for his opportunity to compete and earn a spot on the Tennessee Titans.<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n

Former Clemson wide receiver Jacoby Ford was one of the first wide outs in the Dabo era to get an opportunity to play in the NFL. Ford, the track star, is extremely fast and used his speed while he was at Clemson to out-run opposing defenders and create explosive plays. That has not fully transferred to the NFL, as of yet as Ford played three years for the Oakland Raiders and then spent the 2014 season with the New York Jets. Unfortunately, he was later cut by the Jets and was limited to practice squad duties.<\/p>\n

However, he is excited for an opportunity to play for the Tennessee Titans and will get a chance to make the roster and, possibly, make a huge splash in the wide receiving group. Should he make the team, he could have former Tiger Charlie Whitehurst throwing to him or, most likely, second overall pick Marcus Mariota from Oregon. Here is what Ford had to say about the opportunity<\/a>:<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m just blessed to have another opportunity to go out there and showcase my skills, to show people I still have it,\u201d Ford said. \u201cI\u2019m just trying to come in and make an impact and to do the things I can, whether it\u2019s catching the ball or on special teams.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cThat [being cut by the Jets] was definitely challenging, an eye-opener, because I knew I couldn\u2019t take anything for granted,\u201d Ford said. \u201cIt was something I think I needed. It kind of got me back, focused and honed in, just ready to get back to the basic things.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Hopefully Ford can have a break-out year and become an elite wide receiver like the Clemson faithful knows he has in him this upcoming season.<\/p>\n<\/article>\n
