{"id":2032,"date":"2015-06-12T23:41:00","date_gmt":"2015-06-13T03:41:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.thetigerfanforum.com\/news\/?p=2032"},"modified":"2015-06-12T23:41:00","modified_gmt":"2015-06-13T03:41:00","slug":"mens-track-ties-for-31st-at-ncaa-outdoors","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.thetigerfanforum.com\/news\/2015\/06\/12\/mens-track-ties-for-31st-at-ncaa-outdoors\/","title":{"rendered":"Men\u2019s Track Ties for 31st at NCAA Outdoors"},"content":{"rendered":"<div id=\"textArticle\">\n<p>CLEMSON, S.C. \u2014 The men\u2019s track &amp; field team tied for 31<sup>st<\/sup> at the NCAA Outdoor Championships on Friday behind three scoring performances at Oregon\u2019s Hayward Field. <a class=\"biolink\" href=\"http:\/\/www.clemsontigers.com\/ViewArticle.dbml?&amp;ATCLID=205727498&amp;DB_OEM_ID=28500\">Tevin Hester<\/a> posted a pair of sixth-place finishes, while <a class=\"biolink\" href=\"http:\/\/www.clemsontigers.com\/ViewArticle.dbml?&amp;ATCLID=207033569&amp;DB_OEM_ID=28500\">Justin Johnson<\/a> was seventh in the high hurdles. The team finish was the men\u2019s program\u2019s best at the NCAA Outdoor Nationals since 2008.<\/p>\n<p>Hester\u2019s first sixth-place finish occurred in the 100-meter dash. He ran 10.03 amongst a field that featured five sub-10 second competitors. The sixth-place effort was his best in the 100 meters at the NCAA Championships. He followed with a time of 20.29, again wind-aided, in the 200. He finishes his junior season with six career first-team All-America honors, tied for sixth-most in school history. Johnson ran a wind-aided 13.56 (+3.9) to earn his first All-America honor.<\/p>\n<p><a class=\"biolink\" href=\"http:\/\/www.clemsontigers.com\/ViewArticle.dbml?&amp;ATCLID=205529998&amp;DB_OEM_ID=28500\">Shai Carpenter<\/a>\u2019s career came to a close Friday, but the senior posted an opening triple jump of 51-8.25 under the windy conditions. He placed 18<sup>th<\/sup> in the event in his first and only trip to Eugene. <a class=\"biolink\" href=\"http:\/\/www.clemsontigers.com\/ViewArticle.dbml?&amp;ATCLID=205530007&amp;DB_OEM_ID=28500\">Torian Ware<\/a> competed in the high jump, placing 10<sup>th<\/sup> after clearing 7-1 on his second attempt. Ware is in line for a second-team All-America honor for a second straight outdoor season to finish his career.<\/p>\n<p><a class=\"biolink\" href=\"http:\/\/www.clemsontigers.com\/\/ViewArticle.dbml?&amp;ATCLID=209299860&amp;DB_OEM_ID=28500\">Natoya Goule<\/a> and <a class=\"biolink\" href=\"http:\/\/www.clemsontigers.com\/ViewArticle.dbml?&amp;ATCLID=209299431&amp;DB_OEM_ID=28500\">Iana Amsterdam<\/a> are in action Saturday to close out the championships for the Tigers. Amsterdam goes in the triple jump at 5 p.m. ET, while Goule is scheduled for the 800-meter final at approximately 6:20.
