Deon Cain: The next Sammy Watkins?<\/a> \u2014 Andrew Boardwine, RTR<\/p>\n

No one around Clemson nation ever thought there would be another wide receiver quite like Sammy Watkins or DeAndre \u201cNuk\u201d Hopkins, for that matter, but there is an incoming freshman that, according to Dabo Swinney,<\/a> if you took the two and combined them, you would have a guy named Deon Cain.<\/p>\n

\u201dI describe him as if you take Nuk Hopkins and Sammy Watkins, and birth them together, you have a guy named Deon Cain.\u201d Dabo Swinney.<\/span><\/p>\n

Cain, the 6\u20191\u201d wide receiver commit out of Tampa Bay has spent most of his time at the quarterback position in high school, but has been working out at the wide receiver spot for a couple of years now and has caught onto the footwork rather quickly. When you see Cain, you see just how closely he can be compared to Sammy Watkins.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Linebackers and defenders highlight Friday evening session<\/a> \u2014 Nikki Hood, Tigernet<\/p>\n

CLEMSON \u2013 The evening session of Dabo Swinney<\/a>\u2019s high school camp turned out to be just as interesting as Friday\u2019s afternoon session, and TigerNet spent a good deal of time with the linebackers and defensive players.<\/p>\n

Let\u2019s start with the linebackers, and it all begins with Jake Venables<\/a>. We wanted to watch the 2018 Clemson offer (and son of defensive coordinator Brent Venables<\/a>), who was healthier today after suffering a minor injury at Oklahoma\u2019s camp last week.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Beasley\u2019s patience pays off to big rookie deal<\/a> \u2014 Brandon Rink, Orange and White<\/p>\n

Vic Beasley has agreed to the terms for his rookie contract with the Atlanta Falcons \u2013 another step in showing that extra year in college paid off, quite literally.<\/p>\n

The AJC reports that his contract is worth $14.5 million and includes a $8.8 million signing bonus<\/a>\u00a0over four years. Per the same report, last year\u2019s No. 8 overall pick, where Beasley landed back in April, signed a $12.8 million deal with a $7.6 mil signing bonus.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/article>\n
