ACC Tourney Seeds Set

GREENSBORO, N.C. – Atlantic Division champion Louisville and Coastal Division Champion Miami are the top two seeds for the 2015 Atlantic Coast Conference Baseball Championship, which gets underway Tuesday at Durham Bulls Athletic Park in Durham, North Carolina.
Louisville (42-15, 25-5 ACC) earned the No. 1 overall seed and will head up Pool A. The Cardinals will be joined by fourth seeded Florida State (37-19, 17-13) and fifth-seeded Clemson (31-25, 16-13), while No. 8 North Carolina (32-22, 13-16) and No. 9 Virginia Tech (27-26, 13-16 ACC) will play Tuesday to join the pool.
Miami (42-13, 22-8) earned the No. 2 seed and will lead Pool B with third-seeded Notre Dame (35-19, 17-13 ACC) and sixth-seeded NC State (31-20, 15-14 ACC). The fourth spot in the pool will go to the winner of Tuesday’s game between seventh-seeded Virginia (33-19, 15-15 ACC ) and 10th-seeded Georgia Tech (32-22, 13-17 ACC).
The tournament will get underway Tuesday with the two play-in games. The Virginia Cavaliers and Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets will play at 11 a.m., followed by the North Carolina Tar Heels and the Virginia Tech Hokies at 3 p.m.
Under the pool-play format, each team will play one game against each of the other three opponents in its pool Wednesday through Saturday (May 20-23). The two teams with the best records within their respective pools will advance to the title game on Sunday, May 24, with the winner earning the ACC’s automatic berth into the NCAA Tournament.
Game times Wednesday through Saturday are set for 11 a.m., 3 p.m. and 7 p.m. Sunday’s championship game will begin at 1 p.m.

All 15 games of this year’s ACC Baseball Championship will be televised for the ninth straight year. Regional Sports Networks from across the conference footprint and across the nation will carry all 14 games on Tuesday through Saturday. Sunday’s 1 p.m. championship game will televised nationally by ESPN2. All games will also be available on ESPN3.
In addition, all 15 games will be broadcast via satellite radio on Sirius 218/XM 193.
The inaugural ACC Baseball Championship FanFest presented by Quintiles will be held just outside Durham Bulls Athletic Park on Friday, May 22, from 2 to 7 p.m., and Saturday, May 23, from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.
The free event, held on Blackwell Street, will serve as the official pregame destination for fans and will feature attractions from the ACC Corporate Champions, live entertainment, free face painting, official championship merchandise, food trucks, and fun for the entire family.
