CLEMSON, S.C. – Clemson women’s soccer player Shannon Horgan has been chosen to attend the U.S. Under-19 Women’s National Team’s training camp. The camp, held in Chula Vista, Calif., runs from May 16-23 and features 24 players. Horgan is one of only four college players invited to the camp, led by Women’s Development Coach Jitka Klimkova. All players are eligible for the team that will attempt to qualify for the 2-16 FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup held in Papua New Guinea.
Horgan, a Long Beach, N.Y. native, has been chosen as a defender for the camp. The rising sophomore had a stellar freshman campaign and was named to the ACC All-Freshman team for her efforts. Horgan recorded 10 points for Clemson in 2014, tied for third most on the team. She led the team with six assists on the year and also contributed two goals.
