Clemson, Leggett make NCAA Tourney Again

Clemson has made the NCAA Baseball Tournament and will play in the Cal State Fullerton Regional. The Tigers, the No. 3 seed will play Arizona State, the No. 2 seed.
Clemson has now made the NCAA Tournament 21 out of 22 years under head coach Jack Leggett.
The Tigers (32-27) was the last team in the tournament. The selection committee chose Clemson over UNC and they said it came down to their overall resume and the way they played down the stretch. The Tigers’ 16-13 ACC record played a big role in why they choose Clemson over UNC. Also, the Tigers’ wins over ACC Regular Season Champion, and No. 3 overall seed, Louisville, plus a season-ending sweep of ACC Tournament Champion Florida State helped as well.
UNC had a No. 28 RPI ranking and the Tigers were 54, but the overall play on the field in the conference helped the Tigers get the selection. The Tar Heels did not play Louisville or Florida State this year.
