TigerNet talked to 4-star 2017 defensive back Jamyest WilliamsJamyest WilliamsAthlete5-9, 170Lawrenceville, GAView Full Profile from Lawrenceville, Georgia on Friday afternoon and he confirmed reports that he will visit Clemson on June 4.
Williams visited Clemson’s 2015 spring game and was in attendance during Clemson’s 2014 rivalry win against South Carolina.
TigerNet spoke with Williams in late April and he said that “Clemson is a great school, great coaching staff. I enjoy talking to Coach (Mike) Reed and Coach (Tony) Elliot.” The factors in his recruitment he said will be key relationships he forms, the academic programs and how the school connects with him and the family.
The highly coveted prospect was named first team DB MaxPrep’s Freshman All-American(2013) and MVP of the Freshman Army All-American game in San Antonio, Texas (2013). He has ran a 4.40 in the 40 yard dash at several camps in the last year.
He has early offers from Auburn, Boston College, Charlotte, Cincinnati, Clemson, Duke, Florida State, Georgia, Georgia Tech, Illinois, Kentucky, Miami, Michigan, Michigan State, Missouri, Ohio State, Oklahoma, Stanford Tennessee State, Vanderbilt, Wake Forest and Wisconsin.
As a freshman, he had 32 tackles, 16 PBU’s, and 2 interceptions. On offense, he had 400 all-purpose yards and a touchdown.
