We’ve finally made it to Friday and there is just one day standing between each of us and the weekend. The Clemson baseball team will begin NCAA Tournament play later tonight, so in light of that, here is our preview of the Fullerton Regional and how Clemson can win this weekend. Clemson Baseball: Fullerton Regional Preview — Andrew Boardwine, RTR
The Fullerton Regional will begin play on Friday when the Clemson Tigers play the Arizona State Sun Devils. This, should the Tigers win, could be a long, but exciting, weekend of baseball for Clemson fans. Tiger fans will have to stay up late to be able to see the Clemson baseball team play as they could be playing a game as late as 11 p.m. eastern time. The time difference could come into play as we get later into the week as Clemson is the only team from the east coast to be playing in this regional.
Dabo Swinney Honored by Multiple Organizations for Off the Field Accomplishments — Ryan Kantor, Shakin the Southland
Now, Dabo Swinney’s off the field accomplishments have been recognized by two organizations in the past week. The Gene Stallings Award which “was created to honor college football head coaches who are also humanitarians and strive to promote healthy, vibrant communities through charitable and community service efforts” was given to Coach Swinney.
Student-Athletes Record 3.02 Spring GPA — Clemson Athletic Communications
CLEMSON, S.C. – Nine of Clemson’s athletic programs recorded semester grade point ratios above a 3.0, and 234 student-athletes posted spring semester marks at 3.0 and above, according to data provided by the University Office of Institutional Research.
Baseball, men’s and women’s soccer, rowing, volleyball, diving, women’s golf and men’s and women’s tennis each eclipsed 3.0 as a team, with women’s tennis, coming off its 10th NCAA Sweet 16 appearance in the last 12 seasons, posting a department-high 3.58 semester GPA.
