“Right now, I’m feeling pretty good,” Watkins said Wednesday to reporters.
“Mentally, I’ve got to get my reps,” Watkins said. “I’m behind. I’m not there every day with the guys running routes. So, mentally, I’ve got to watch the defense, the coverages, watch how things move because I’m going to be coming back soon. And everything’s got to be fast and I’ve got to pick it up.”
Watkins is not trying to rush his injury while its still early in the preseason.
“If it’s early, I’m fine and if it’s late, I’m OK with that,” Watkins said. “Everything is pain free. I’m taking it easy, taking it slow. I’m not doing everything a hundred percent. Basically, getting the time with the reps with the guys is to feel comfortable with myself, get the injury out of my head, so when it comes time for training camp to play and compete, I can compete.”
Bills’ medical staff will more than likely clear him for Bills’ upcoming training camp.
