Clemson has had some serious talent at wide receiver
NFL.com has released its latest article that ranked the Top 10 college football programs that have produced quality NFL wide receivers.
The rankings were based on a 15-year history of draft picks and the overall quality of the group.
Clemson was ranked #7 on the ranked list.
“Rod Gardner (Redskins), DeAndre HopkinsDeAndre HopkinsWide Receiver (2010 – 2012)#6 6-2, 205Central, SCView Full Profile (Texans) and Sammie Watkins (Bills) were first-round picks for the Tigers,” NFL.com said. Gardner was a fixture as a Redskins starter for four years before his career fizzled elsewhere, while Hopkins took a major step forward as a second-year pro in 2014. Despite quarterback issues in Buffalo, Watkins posted nearly 1,000 yards as a rookie last season.
Jacoby Ford, Jaron Brown and Martavis Bryant were not included in Clemson’s rankings since they were not high enough draft picks.
Tennessee who boasts proudly on Twitter that they are the real ‘WRU’ was not even mentioned in the rankings.
