Coffee, Clemson Style: 6/6/15 Edition

Every morning, wake up with Rubbing the Rock as we explore some of the top Clemson Tiger stories from around the web.

We have a long Coffee, Clemson Style for you this morning, Tiger Nation. Enjoy your Saturday and check out some of these stories from around the web yesterday!

RTR Fan of the Month: June Edition — Tyreese Ingram, RTR

Each and every month, Rubbing the Rock will be hand-picking a “Fan of the Month” to recognize a special person’s unwavering loyalty to Clemson Athletics. Our June Fan of the Month is Mrs. Debby Laidlaw.

If you would like to be featured as the “Fan of the Month” or know someone that you believe deserves this honor, contact us through our Facebook page, our Twitter account (@rubbingtherock) or give us an email at [email protected] and once again, congratulations Debby!

Swinney to personally watch prospect with 5-star heart and 5-star attitude — David Hood, Tigernet

Dabo Swinney’s summer camps are the time when the Clemson coaching staff takes a look at some of the younger players across the region as they consider submitting offers. It’s also a chance for the coaches to get another look at current or prospective commits in an effort to get the best players in the program.

This Saturday will be a little different as the coaches take a look at a young running back who doesn’t have five stars from ESPN or any recruiting service, but has a 5-star heart and 5-star attitude.

Before we get to that story, however, we need to do a little background.

Jack Leggett Releases Statement — Andrew Boardwine, RTR

We would like to thank Coach Leggett for his time and effort he has poured into the Clemson baseball program over the past two decades. He has been a great role model and mentor for student-athletes and has always represented Clemson University with the utmost class and due diligence. Thank you Coach Leggett for what you have meant to Clemson University.

Sizing up the ACC: Tigers face replacing 4,000 snaps on interior line — Brandon Rink, Orange and White

Just how does Clemson replace Grady Jarrett? That’s the question facing Brent Venables and defensive tackles coach Dan Brooks, but far from the only issue on the interior.

The Tigers lose the ever-underrated Jarrett (207 tackles over four seasons) and big contributors in DeShawn Williams (161 tackles) and Josh Watson (148). Combined, that’s 4,092 snaps off the field for Clemson’s D-line.
