Death Valley is one of the top college football venues in the nation. Here is a little video to help you get through the summer.
Here is a video narrating exactly what Death Valley is and just what it’s like for opposing teams to come in and win a game in Memorial Stadium. If you have ever been to Clemson, South Carolina on a Saturday during the fall, you know just how special and sacred of a place Death Valley is to the sea of orange that file in, 80,000 strong, the stadium. This video was released at the season opener back in 2013, where the Tigers faced the Georgia Bulldogs, but still paints a strong and accurate picture of just what Death Valley means to the Clemson faithful.
More from Rubbing the Rock
Memorial Stadium is one of the most special places to be in the fall and nothing beats spending an afternoon or night in Death Valley cheering the Tigers on to what most expect to be a victory. There is a reason Clemson is one of the top venues in the country and the traditions that go through Death Valley-the hill, the rock, Tiger Rag- are unparalleled in significance. This is Death Valley.
I am the seats handed down from generation to generation. The oooh of the crowd as a tackler meets his mark. The 110% commitment to be All In. The paralyzing joy that originates in a California desert. I’m where two Perrys, Kirkland, Dawkins, Spiller, and Nuk became immortals. I am the inevitable illusion of will. The impending doom of consequence. Seven days a year, 82,000 unite as one. I am the thread that ties this nation and I am the heart that pumps orange blood through your veins. I am Death Valley.
