Clemson Makes NCAA Baseball Tournament

Clemson Makes NCAA Baseball Tournament

After an improbable 3 game sweep of FSU to end the regular season, Clemson was one of the last teams in to the 2015 NCAA Baseball Tournament. The Tigers, who finished 1-2 in the ACC tournament, will be headed to the Cal State Fullerton Regional as a 3 seed. There they will play 2 seed Arizona State in the team’s first game. Cal State Fullerton is the 1 seed in the regional and will play 4 seed Pepperdine to open postseason play.
It was a bit of a surprise that Clemson made the tournament given their inconsistent play during the season. The Tigers often lost midweek games to inferior opponents and followed it up with poor play on Saturdays and Sundays. Teams just missing out on the tournament include UNC and Missouri.

Regional play starts Friday with Clemson playing Arizona State at 6pm EST on ESPN3. Followed up by further games on Saturday and hopefully Sunday. The winner of the Fullerton Regional will play the winner of the Louisville regional which also includes Bradley, Michigan, and Morehead State.
