Offers starting to flow out of Swinney’s camp during second day — David Hood, Tigernet
CLEMSON – The offers are beginning to flow out at
Dabo Swinney’s high school, and a player that has ties to the coaching staff picked up his first offer Tuesday afternoon.
Jake Venables, the 2018 linebacker prospect out of Central (SC) Daniel and son of defensive coordinator Brent Venables was stopped by head coach Dabo Swinney early in Tuesday’s session. RTR Spotlight: Tyshon Dye — Andrew Boardwine, RTR
Tyshon Dye was one of the most highly-touted running backs coming out of high school just a couple of years ago. Unfortunately, things have not gone his way as he has been injury-plagued up until late last season as he battled his way back to see limited playing time in the last three or four games of the season. He showed what he is capable of in the Georgia State game when he rushed for 124 yards on 20 carries and had two touchdowns and looked good in some of his time here at Clemson.[fsdaily]
He is a power-runner and Clemson may rely on him as a situational runner this year. With Deshaun Watson not being able to run the ball as much, he may be relied on to pickup first downs on 3rd down and short situations. He is a north-south runner and, if healthy, could be one of those backs that could carry the ball 20-plus times in a game.
