During his sophomore season (2014), he caught 57 balls for 1,030 yards and six touchdowns. While that’s a big year numbers-wise for the sophomore, the numbers came in spots.

So what to expect in 2015?

In 2014, most of Williams’ yards came from deep passes between the 30-yard lines, which forced opponents to honor the deep ball with the Tigers most dangerous deep threat. When you take a deeper look inside the numbers, in 13 games Williams averaged 4.38 catches per game versus Artavis Scott who averaged 5.84 catches per game.

With Williams dedication in the offseason, he could be emerge as a multi-threat weapon for the Clemson passing game this year. I watched Williams in spring practice catching passes one handed, with both hands and with his body against things to simulating coverage. You can see the attention to detail is now at an all time high.

We saw Williams catching balls in routes we haven’t seen in Clemson’s spring game this year. Is this a preview of things to come? Factor this, if Williams were to average two more catches a game and go to 6 a game his numbers would balloon to 1,400 yards. Williams could emerge this fall as dominant threat in the Tigers offense this fall with his 6-foot-4 frame, long arms and speed to burn.
