Clemson Football Recruiting: Meet J.C. Chalk

Let’s take a look at J.C. Chalk, tight end prospect out of Argyle, Texas.

The Clemson Tiger Class of 2016 already has a total of eight commits as we hit mid-May. There are still several prospects in the nation that Coach Swinney and his staff will attempt to get pledges from in the upcoming months as they begin their senior season of football. Over the rest of May, however, we are going to take a look at these eight men and what they could do when they arrive on campus next fall. Today, we will take a look at the tight end prospect from Argyle, Texas, J.C. Chalk.

By some recruiting services, J.C. Chalk is a three-star tight end, by others he has moved to a four-star prospect. The more and more I look at his film, the more I truthfully believe that before it’s all said and done, he will be a four-star guy across the board. He is too talented of a tight end, in a very deep tight end class, to not be a four-star prospect. He has looked really good in the combines he has participated in and should continue to develop into a top-tier tight end when he arrives on campus in the fall of 2016.

As a Junior, he had 34 receptions for 460 yards and seven touchdowns. In his film, what impressed me the most was his hands and his ability to get out and block. He is a balanced tight end that can both block and go out and catch a pass. This will be important for the Clemson offense to have a guy that can do both at such a high level.

J.C. Chalk, tight end, Argyle Texas:

STRENGTHS: Hands, Blocking Ability, Route-Running, Lead Blocking, Power
